Alden Collinson is the founder of Carbon Free Hawaiʻi. Upon moving to Waimea with his family at 13 years old, Alden sought opportunities to become involved with his local community. Recognizing the high cost of living and reliance on imported fossil fuels, Alden developed his concept for the nonprofit as a way to serve his neighbors and preserve Hawaiʻi’s natural resources. As the student body president-elect at Hawaiʻi Preparatory Academy, his passion for renewable energy has enabled him to work on the school’s sustainability plan as part of its commitment to become carbon net zero by 2030.
